Altrusa International, Inc. is an
international association of business executives and
professionals who volunteer their energies and expertise
in projects dedicated to community betterment. Altrusa
is a community service organization that espouses
volunteerism and service.
The Meredith Altrusa Club is part
of District One, which has 20 clubs in four US states
as well as clubs in Canada and Bermuda

Overview
The Meredith Altrusa Club was chartered in 1981 under
the direction of our first president, Dr. Jeannette
Ritzenthaler, as a “spin-off” from our sister club,
the Laconia, NH chapter.
Located in the heart of the Lakes
Region, our quaint and historic village of Meredith,
New Hampshire serves as the latchkey to the majestic
White Mountains.
We are fortunate to be able to enjoy
four seasons of outdoor fun and relaxation right in
our own backyard….. boating, sailing, swimming, cruising,
hiking, biking, camping, fishing, tax free shopping,
antiquing, fall foliage viewing, skiing, snowboarding,
snowmobiling, ice fishing, and more!
Nestled among New Hampshire's largest
lakes, Meredith’s historic old-fashioned charm and
friendly atmosphere combine with the natural beauty
of lakes and mountains surrounded by the neighboring
towns of Laconia, Weirs Beach, Center Harbor, Moultonborough,
Holderness, Sandwich, Wolfeboro, Bristol, and New
Hampton.
